5Best set yetSep 17, 2007

I like the locking mechanism and the slim profile when closed. It makes these easy to store. I threw away my previous set!

5Very useful tongs!Jan 30, 2010

I bought these because they were rated tops in the Cooks Illustrated review of barbecue tongs. They are a bit longer than I was thinking I needed, but they have been absolutely great in practice. The scalloped ends allow you to grip meat firmly but without crunching it. The locking feature keeps them from taking up too much room in the kitchen. They are long enough to keep you from burning your hands, but not so long as to be awkward. A simple but effective product.

5Great tongsNov 16, 2008

easy to use, good and strong for large items like ribs and good also for turning smaller things, a lot of control

These are the most poorly made tongs I've ever seen. I should have known better because they were very inexpensive. The material is flimzy and they have NO spring in them at all. They are going straight into the thrift shop bag. I will replace with a usable quality that I will purchase at a retail store (so I can try them out). I can't believe that Amazon would make such a cheap product available.
