OK but not what I wantedJan 16, 2008
By ResearchingMom These would be ok but I didn't realize just how big they are. I wanted something I could actually cook with. They are a full 12" long. The handles didn't fit comfortably in my hand and the silicon tips are hard, not rubbery texture like I'd imagined. The tips open to about 6" between them. Hope this helps someone else know better if it's what they want.

Great multi-purpose tongsSep 30, 2005

These are wonderful tongs. They work well in non-stick and delicate pots and pans due to the silicon tong end. They have a sturdy aluminum frame, but I wouldn't attempt to squeeze on them too, I have easily picked up a 5lb. meat roast with them for turning.
They have a nice large U-spring lock at the top and a loop for hanging. I removed the loop as I use a utensil holder and found it got in the way for the lock. A good job by Amco on these.

Great tongs for nonstickJan 28, 2006

If you're like me, you find it really hard to find GOOD utensils that you can use with your nonstick cookware. Spoons are the only thing that are good in wood, and the plastic stuff seems to crap out on me, eventually.
Tongs are worth their weight in gold; a spatula or spoon have their uses, but they're not cut out for universal cooking service. Tongs are good for just about anything that's not sloppy or squishy. It's like having a heatproof extension of your hand available.
All you ever see is the standard metals tongs, though, and those won't do unless you're BBQing or if you cook on stainless or anodized (and you can't poke a lot in either). I didn't want plastic-tipped tongs, so these fit the bill perfectly.
They are a good length. They don't open too wide to be a nuisance when placed on a counter- or stove-top. They're sturdy. They're great!

Very good, but spring action too stiffDec 22, 2008

These tongs appear to be well made. I like the slimmer design of the silicone vs. the bulky nylon "heads" of the Oxo, which make it sometimes difficult to pick things up out of the pan. The spring action of the Oxo however, is excellent.
The spring action of these silicone tongs is really too stiff. Frying a couple of small batches of chicken fingers, I could feel my forearm starting to tire a bit, (and I'm 6 ft., 240 lbs.).

TongsSep 14, 2008
By P. Sagisi They don't scratch, grip well and are reasonably priced. If they were a little more forgiving on delicate items (chicken nuggets, fish fillets, etc.), I would give them five stars, otherwise they are a good value.
