A Pleasure to Use and AccurateFeb 21, 2010
By Love New Gadgets I have been using another brand of spice jar friendly spoons and only recently discovered that they were off quite a bit in the measurements. Out they went and enter this Amco set. I measured each and every one against a very reliable set and they were right on target. They also sit perfectly on the coutertop when filled, which is wonderful. My only complaint is that the sizes imprinted on the handle are not etched deeply enough and it is not easy to read in 4 of the 6 spoons, but that is not critical, just a little annoying.

Great Measuring SpoonsJan 18, 2009
By S. Lyon I really like Amco measuring cups and spoons (as well as their cooking utensils). All are sturdy and well-constructed. The spice measures are great because they easily fit into most spice jars and cans. I find that dipping in is much easier than trying to pour spices out into a regular measuring spoon. These spoons are also long enough to reach to the bottom of most spice jars and cans, and have a tapered tip to help you get into the bottom edge to either loosen hardened spices or dip out what's left. My mom liked mine so much that she replaced her William-Sonoma set with the Amco Spice Measure set.

Love themDec 07, 2008
By M. Vachon My ex bought these two years ago and I just had to get them back!!!
They work very well in spice pot and are very accurate! I tested mine against a kitchen aid measuring kit and everyone of them were right on cue as far as measure is concern...
Just washed them by hands...if you have time to cook, you should have time to wash your precious tools (Knives, measuring tools etc...)
They will last a lifetime!!!

DisappointedJun 30, 2011
By J. White I already have the Amco Advanced Performance Measuring Spoons. I've had them for 5 years now. I am very happy with that set of spoons except only the 1/4 teaspoon measure fits in my spice jars, and that set doesn't come with an 1/8 or 3/4 teaspoon measure. So I decided to buy this set. But I definitely don't like these as much because:
1. It's a thinner metal than the Amco Advanced spoons. It looks pretty durable, but not as good of quality as the other measuring spoons.
2. Only the 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2 teaspoon measures fit inside my spice jars. The 3/4 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, and 1 tablespoon do not. I'm not surprised that the tablespoon doesn't fit, but I was hoping that all the rest would.
3. The handles on the smaller spoons are wider than the spoon part. So if the spoon part fits in the spice jar, you can't get in the jar very far because the handle is a little too wide. The handles should be narrower and longer.
4. They nest inside each other too tightly, so it's a little hard to "un-nest" them.
5. They're shaped oddly. They're not completely oval shaped. The tips are slightly pointed. Not sure what the benefit of that would be. But it looks a little strange.
So in conclusion, I am disappointed with these spoons. I definitely prefer the Amco Advanced Performance Measuring spoons. I just wish that set came with an 1/8 teaspoon and 3/4 teaspoon measure like this set does. And I wish they fit in my spice jars. Maybe I'll just have to get bigger spice jars. I'm keeping these, but I'll probably only use the 1/8 and 3/4 teaspoons, and the rest as a back-up. If I had known all of this ahead of time, I wouldn't have bought these.

Useful!Jun 15, 2010
By Maisy fan The measurements are exact-- after testing the tablespoon, teaspoon, and 1/2 teaspoon, and finding them all exactly accurate, I decided those other reviewers must have been sampling too much of the extract. They are a substantial thickness--I'd have to actually try to bend them, unlike the el cheapo spoons I had in college. They fit into spice jars easily--which is really the point, of course.
