I had an apple corer like this one years ago and have been looking for another one since. All those that I have seen make the hole all the way through the apple.
When I make a baked apple I want a hole in the apple that still has a BOTTOM so the butter, sugar cinnamon, etc. do not run out.
If this is like the one I used to have, it will core the apple leaving a cavity that can be filled. Apple Corer - 4407
