First you have to put the hinge side near the opening. close then pump about 5-6 times to keep pressure on. Not possible to get 100 percent due to air vs co2 gas inside. Plastic snap breaks over time due to cheap designed to fail 3 tiny pieces of plastic being flexed to close the top. You have to buy them over and over.

2Pump and Pour Fizz-Keeper Can TopperJul 20, 2008
By Heather Austin
These were just "Ok". I got 2 in the package...the first one I tried didn't work at all so I tossed it leaving only the second one, I tried it and it worked but as far as keeping the fizz in and keeping the soda fresh it didn't do that good, the soda wasn't "like a new can" it was more like picking up and drinking from a can that's sat in the fridge for an hour or so to where it still has some fizz in it but has started going flat and it's got the going flat taste. I'd suggest it for people that may pop the soda in the fridge for an hour or two then finish it off afterwards since in that time it would still taste pretty fresh. I wouldn't recommend it for people that want to be able to leave the soda in the fridge overnight...unless you like that mostly flat taste.

4Saves soda and moneyJan 29, 2009
By L. A. Lattin "shopsalot"
I bought this item on a whim one day at the grocery store. I was so impressed with it. It really does work. I was always drinking 1/2 a can or less of soda and then throwing it a way. This kept the soda fresh for days. I loved it. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is that it only lasted about 3 months. I did use it just about every day, but the pump stopped working and I had to throw it a way. Ever since I have been looking all over for this and I am so glad I found it on amazon.

1Jakari Soda Can PumpDec 24, 2010
By Uncle Carol
I only recommend this product by saying don't buy it. I honestly don't think there is a product available to save the fizz in the can. Bought this product with a lot of hope and was greatly disappointed. The pump seemed like a good idea but it failed to work properly and actually made the pop go flat faster. When I tried to open the top or remove the ring the can would slip and make a mess. I just tossed the two tops in the trash. Not even worth the time to return the product.

2Poorly madeNov 28, 2009
By Corey Ward "Corey"
Out of the two I bought, only one works at all - the other doesn't have a tight enough seal and never did. The one that does work still won't fit on a lot of cans snuggly, and it pops off as I'm pumping quite often (I'm talking 2-3 pumps on a half-full can). Occasionally it'll get soda in the pump and start getting really slow, but running it under hot water and pumping so that it fills with water and squirts gets it all cleaned out and new again.

I wish the product was made better...I'd buy a half-dozen of 'em.
