My mother (80 yrs old) finally wore out her angel food cake pan. I have been trying to find a replacement for her for months, and none met the test, until this one. Particularly good is that the center tube is taller than most other pans, plus the legs are longer for allowing the cake to cool upside down. A real keeper!

I have been making angel food boxed cakes for over thirty years, but so far I am not real excited by this pan. My first cake fell out when I turned it over. I may not have baked it long enough due to the change of pans so I take some blame. The second cake stayed in the pan, but it had a huge air pocket on one side and was kind of lopsided. So thus far I am happier with the results from my old one piece non-stick that is getting hard to clean. It has made beautiful cakes for many years and may get put back into service. This new pan does clean easily, however.

I have used the aluminum type of angel food tube pan for many years and needed a replacement for one lost in a move. I was pleased to find that this heavier, non-stick, dark variety of pan was favorably priced and so I ordered it.
The first cake I made was a pandanus-flavored chiffon cake (from a mix) that was a gift from a friend. This is an Indonesian cake, flavored with pandanus leaf, which has a sort of jasmine-rice, bready warm aroma; in fact, it is the same aromatic component in jasmine rice that gives it its savor. The batter went into this pan, greased and with a parchment paper on the bottom. I used the label that comes stuck to the pan, a sort of heavier card stock, as a template for the parchment and I recommend if you buy this pan, save that label to use as a template. I poured in the batter and baked the cake. It came out PERFECTLY. Slide right out after cooling for ten minutes, and was evenly baked.
As a matter of fact, I like chiffon cake but if you are watching cholesterol, a low fat cake is angel cake, which can be made successfully from many mixes as well as more laboriously from scratch. You can put in a can of drained, crushed pineapple. Personally, I find angel food cake a bit too sweet for my tastes, but either way, this pan is useful for baking and is a high quality. You can also bake monkey bread, ring yeast coffee cakes and other items in this pan. Recommended.

I thought this would be the perfect angel food cake pan. The first time I used it, it malfunctioned. The inner part with the core warped soon after putting it in the oven causing the still thinner batter to ooze out into the oven making a big mess to clean. Only positive is that the pan itself was easy to clean. I will continue to use my old metal pan that bakes well, never warps, but I need Brillo to clean it. I do thank the wonderful people at Amazon who accepted the return and gave me the full refund.

This two piece angle food pan is the greatest. It cooks completely even, leaving a golden outer shell on all sides, including top and bottom. We have had others, but this one is best of all. This coupled with the out standing service we have come to expect from Amazon leaves us being completely satisfied
