Fantastic GrinderJan 11, 2011
By Phoebe Brent I bought this grinder because I was tired of using a manual grinder. As soon as we received it, we started to make burger. The burger looked professionally ground. It was so easy and fast. The meat seemed to cut better partially frozen than thawing the meat completely. I would definitely recommend this grinder.

simple aluminumSep 03, 2011
By Mary D. We must have gotten a defective unit, because ours broke within 10 min of use. I bought this meat-grinder because of its high reviews and relatively reasonable price. My husband praised the easy construction, although he wasn't happy about the aluminum parts. After a few minutes of using it he complained that the meat was coming out like paste (we bought it to make homemade dumplings). He changed the holes for the bigger ones, and in the next 30 seconds he heard a snapping sound, and the grinder stopped rotating. The engine worked, but the rotary part stopped rotating. We sent it back to the seller and had no problems with the full refund.
Learning CurveSep 09, 2011

On our first attempt at using this grinder, we ground about 15 pounds of pork sausage. This was not a good idea. It was too much for the first time. You cannot go too fast! It works good when you just keep the screw full of meat. Never fill the chute with meat and use the pusher to drive meat into the screw! It gets clogged and makes the meat into mush. My technique is to watch the screw and drop meat chunks into the screw as it clears itself and pushes the meat through the screen. It needs to have a steady stream of chunks to work properly. After the learning curve and some mushy sausage, we were satisfied with the grinder. It also pays to give it a rest every once in awhile. It gets hot. For one of the less costly models, it did a good job.
