1shoddy workmanship.Aug 20, 2004
By H. Cox
I bought this set of hanging baskets and was surprised when I went to put a bunch of bananas in it. It fell to the gound. The chains had broken in not one, but two places!

I used my needle nosed pliers to try and fix it, and for a while it was ok. however, this morning it broke again.

Now it's in the trash.

1Don't waste your money on this kitchen basketFeb 10, 2006
By C. Nelson
The chains on this kitchen basket broke in 5 places after only 2 weeks of use. It is very poorly made. Don't waste your money on it. Thankfully no one was underneath it when it broke, but it could potentially be dangerous. I've reported it to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

2Beware of Sudden Crashes!Mar 22, 2007
By Hillymeg "hillymeg"
I've had this item for about two years, and for a long while I thought it was a great solution to my kitchen storage issues. However, just like one of the other reviewers, one day I must have put one banana too many in the basket, because the chains snapped and everything fell to the counters. I fixed it, like the other reviewer, with pliers, but it happened twice more, and now I am giving up. It's not worth the bruised fruit or toes!

5If you understand that it has limitations it works just fineNov 11, 2010
By Christopher Golas
I read just about every review for this product before chancing a purchase. It came in a decent package first off and was undamaged. Although the individual product came with the chains a bit tangled up, upon correcting that and orienting it properly I was able to hang it with no problem and put as much as 7lbs of items on it. I have not had any problems thus far and I am inclined to help bring the rating on this item back up. I am sure 5%-10% of items shipped could lead to defects but based on the reviews it seems like a careless assembly of the components and an overloading of the baskets themselves is what has caused the items to fail. I currently have 3 oranges, 6 limes, 2 bulbs of garlic, 7 med onions, and about 10 medium sized potatoes and it has capacity for more. I think the item is worth a chance baring the care and consideration of assembly and also not throwing the entire pantry onto the baskets and expecting it to hold up. I like mine and when Amazon offers pictures of assembled and used items in peoples reviews I think Ill post a picture of it.

1Pure Garbage!Feb 08, 2009
By J. Abbondanza
This item would be great - except for the fact that the chain might be the cheapest, badly made, low quality chain ever made. We put three oranges in and all three chains broke - AT ONCE.

After this, I pulled the chain with my hands and it broke with no effort.

Stay away from this product - it is made for the garbage.
