4Specs: stated and unstatedMar 21, 2008
By Boston Bean
4 stars: This is a solid product, with clearly marked, and very readable, measurement lines that are quite accurate. This heavy weight glass is made in America, and is lead free.

Why 4 stars: The specs indicate that it holds 2 cups (16 oz.)...not quite. The uppermost red marker line is actually an accurate 1-3/4 cups. If you fill the glass to the rim, it measures 1-15/16 c., 1/16 of a cup less than 2 cups. The on-line product description, and the package liner says that the glass is dishwasher safe, but the recommended care, on the liner, tells you that you should hand wash the glass, and avoid abrasive products. And finally, another reason for only 4 stars, the product liner says "Do Not Microwave". That's one of the reasons that I bought the product. I wanted to measure thick syrups, honey or molasses in the glass and warm in the microwave for easy pouring, after measuring. I also wanted to be able to melt butter or margarine, for certain recipes. I wish that I had known about the microwave caveat.

4Great for precise measurements, labeling fades with useMay 31, 2008
By Jens "Firebird93"
This is a fantastic cup for all those weird measurements, especially 7/8 cup seems to be handy for some of my recipes. My only complaint is the markings fade after a while - I've had the cup about 2 years and it's time to replace. My other well-known-brand cups with red markings don't have this problem. However, I am still giving it 4 stars because it really does its job well and I will be replacing witht the same cup. (Disclaimer: I put everything through the dishwasher)

4Awesome product, just wish it was tip proofOct 17, 2009
By Gamul "Gamul1"
All of the measurement options on this are awesome. Finally I can measure all those weird measurement sizes like 1/4 cup plus 2 table spoons. Have not run into anything I could not quickly measure.

My only concern is that it could tip over if not careful. I have not had that happen yet so it is only my concern. But I am sure it could if not very careful.

1Not 2 cupsNov 03, 2012
By G. Stephens
I wish I had seen the review that said this is not really a 2 cup measuring cup. If I had I wouldn't have bought it. I needed a two cup measuring cup the shape of this one. I have a plastic one but it is getting worn from almost daily use and the marking are almost gone. But even if you fill it all the way to the brim it does not hold 2 cups and of course who wants a measuring cup that you have to fill all the way to the top to get the full measurement. Generally you want a little room left at the top when you have added the desired amount of whatever you are measuring so it doesn't spill if you have to carry it to the stove or wherever. If you truly want something that measures 2 cups don't get this item.

I will never purchase a Dezine product again. If they think selling an item described as a two cup measuring cup when it doesn't hold two cups is acceptable then I can only imagine the lies they tell about their other products.

After only two months of daily machine washing, those "permanent" markings have disappeared. I will not purchase this item again.
