Love this little screen. Keeps fingers safe.
Used to use the wire mesh ones but the holes were so small it trapped everything and was SO yucky to clean up. This one lets the small pieces of food etc through while preventing cutlery from falling in. Cleaning is also easy, just hot water and soap, no more using a toothbrush to get the bits trapped food off, like I had to with the wire mesh ones.
Love is so much I bought 3 more to keep, in case they decide not to make them anymore.

This is a good product. I'm replacing another that lasted about 10 years. It's reasonably sturdy. The best part is that it is BLACK plastic. Locally, I can only find white and it stains and looks dirty and terrible in the sink after a short time. In terms of design, the only improvement would be to have the little pull on both sides of the screen. Sometimes it falls into the sink and the pull is on the bottom and I need to use a fork to turn it over.

These should be made out of cast bronze; the center screen breaks apart from the ring every month or two. We bought three anticipating this problem and I am now ordering more unless I can find something similar in metal.

I gave it 4 stars not because it was faulty, but because it doest fit all disposals. I had a kenmore originally, and it fit perfectly. I had to get a new disposal, a waste king 8000, and the screen was too big. I filed it and sanded it smooth to get it to fit the new hole. other than it not fitting all disposals, It works perfectly.
An update, I just changed it to 1 star, the fins/ strainer has cracked in several places, not completely broke in 2 yet but any time soon the center handle is going to break out of it. Its center is too weak, if a pot or glass goes into the drain it puts stress on the strainers center. Apparently its not designed to stay in the drain and pile any dishes in it. Kind of defeats its purpose of keeping stuff from falling in the drain if you cant put anything it the sink anyway.
Im currently looking for a better replacement before it breaks all together and my wife grinds up my silverware in my new disposal. save your money.

I too loved this little kitchen gadget and thought it was the best buy ever. It was easy to remove and and easy to keep clean, fit perfectly, etc., etc. But after having it a couple of months it broke. If I had replaced it right away there would have been no problem. But after a few weeks of little pieces breaking off every few days, the last part of the middle grating broke off and fell down into the garbage disposal leaving me with little pieces of hard plastic to clean out of it. Bottom line: I agree with the others who said the manufacturer should remake this product using a sturdier material and put a handle on the other side. Until then I will most likely buy a replacement as soon as the other breaks.
