Nice heavy plastic and the handles are great. The one thing I would prefer is to have holes instead of slots for the liquid to drain through. I tend to lose more pasta through them than any other collander I've used before.

OXO is amazing, and this colander is pretty wonderful.
Tosses in the dishwasher, easier to clean in general than the ld shcool meatal ones.
Spagetti is tough in this; the holes are actually slits, and spaghetti can get caught- hence the 4 stars. For eveything else- fabulous!

The handles are way, way too small and the rubbery "grip" just feels gross. That said, it does drain efficiently. Not the easiest thing in the world to clean, though.

This is great for LARGE pasta... not for angelhair pasta. It slips through the slits and it's very hard to get our- creates a big mess!

We have other OXO products and really like them, but slots are just a Bad Idea. Pasta just slides right through.
