I did not buy this for cooling cakes... I had one, from decades ago, that sits in the bottom of my ceramic, round, Crock Pot to keep meat from sitting in it's juices when cooking. That rack has worn out and I needed another small, circular, stainless steel rack and I found it here on Amazon.com. Thanks!!

This is a very sturdy 6" round wire rack. I bought it to put in my 4qt oblong slow cooker (since one did not come with the cooker), and it fits perfectly and works great. This is not flimpsy to if you need a good small rack, this should fit your needs.

Plus - Product is exactly what I wanted to keep pot roasts etc from sticking to bottom of pans, crocks etc.
Negative - Shipping costs were more than the cost of the item.

We needed to replace the small rack we used in the bottom of our crockpot so we ordered two of these. These are much more heavy duty than what we used prior. The metal is much, much thicker and should last a long time. Very happy with this purchase.

I, too, have searched for a long time to replace my cooking rack that was taken (along with my home and everything else in it) by "Katrina" five years ago! I do not use it to cool cakes. I use it to place my roasts on, to keepthem from sticking to my oven dish.
