Great set of Tongs for ToastJan 25, 2010

These things work great! The grip toast and related bread-like products just fine. You don't risk getting electrocuted because they're not made of metal. They have a handy magnet to keep then on the fridge and at the ready. The only downside is that if you want to retrieve a toasted bagel then you'll also need J.K. Adams BT-1M Bagel Tongs which share the same virtues as this product and are a bit larger.
BTW, I feel that honest, effective reviews take the place of first-hand experiences that are lacking in online shopping. I've always appreciated the help I've gotten from other reviewers and continue to return the favor as best as I can. If you thought this review was helpful please let me know by clicking on "Yes" button where it asks. If there was anything you thought was lacking or unclear leave a comment and I'll do what I can to fix it.

not enthusiasticMay 14, 2007
By Cora Diamond I bought these toaster tongs to replace an old cheap pair from England, which didn't attempt to be nicely crafted, but which worked much better. The English pair lasted for more than twenty years, and gripped the toast better. Because the old pair were metal, I suppose there may have been some danger of electric shock from them, but I never had trouble with them. This wooden Adams pair is prettier, but the two parts of the tongs that slide down along the sides of the toast are thicker than the corresponding parts of the English pair, which impedes their working. Also the cheap English pair squeezed onto the toast more easily. In the Adams pair, the squeezing action is tight and limited by the nature of the wood. Most of the time, I find myself lifting the toast out with a knife or my fingers instead of using the Adams tongs, simply because they aren't terribly well suited to the task.

Toast tongsJul 28, 2008
By Michael P. Lenahan I bought two pair one for toast and a larger one for bagles. I use them all the time. Good price and good service. Would recommend and would shop again.

Simple PerfectionMar 08, 2007
By Kitchen Angel What a wonderful invention! Wood tongs for the toaster! Safe to use without having to unplug the toaster, flexible enough to grasp even the thinnest piece of bread and a great little magnet so you can attach it to the toaster itself so it's always in reach!

No more burnt fingers!Nov 05, 2008
By R. Walsworth Reaching into the toaster oven to rotate bread for even toasting or to pull out an item finished before the heat has turned off has been the cause of many a burn on my fingers and knuckles. Finally, I got smart and bought these toaster tongs. With the handy inlaid magnet, the tongs stick to the outside of the oven and I just grab them to pull out the shelf so I can pick up the bread by hand or slide the food onto a plate without brushing my fingers against the sizzling hot upper burner rod. The tongs are sturdy and do the job very well. The price is right, too.
