5Excellent ProductOct 29, 2007
By Donna
I have been making spritz cookies for more than 20 years and have used several presses. I just recently bought this press and have found that the stainless steel really seems to be a key in making well shaped cookies. This cookie press is really easy to use, the dough sticks to the tray not the press, the cookies are perfectly formed and clean up is really easy. I highly recommended this product.

2Cookie PressDec 14, 2008
By M. Erickson "Mel"
I researched cookie presses and decided on this one. Most of the reviews were positive but when I tried to use it, I was very frustrated. While the components are of good quality, the attachment that holds the pattern shape to the end of the press does not screw on (like the older model). Instead, it slides into a guide and turns. The pressure of the cookie dough pushes the end piece off and the pattern disk is pushed off. Extremely frustrating. If only the end piece had a way to screw it on.

5Magic cookie pressMar 08, 2008
By Jan Winje "Winje's Kitchen"
I ordered this item with some trepidation - I usually mistrust gadgets. It was delivered really fast. I immediately set about making some cookies with it and I'm STILL grinning from ear to ear. Its easy, creative, clean and very very satisfying to use. One tiny caution, wipe the cylinder and your hands before each load, it gets a bit slippery. I love the box it comes in, makes storage so much easier.

Nicely made with a stainless-steel body but several key parts are made of plastic materials - which, in my experience, pose a long-term threat to durability.

One click gives a relatively small cookie. Two clicks gives a large cookie - but this becomes tiresome if you are producing a large batch.

The main problem with this item is that you must hold the lower plastic die holder in place as you grip the barrel or it will come apart due to the pressure. (Yes - I rest the dough at room temperature for about 30 minutes.) When this issue is addressed, the press works very well.

The excellent display case and easily identified die are a definite plus for this product.

5Love it!Apr 22, 2010
By The Good Homemaker
I absolutely love this cookie press. I grew up using the aluminum cookie press with the screw mechanism- so I had something literally foolproof with which to compare this product.

I am baking as we speak a batch of spritz cookies, and it was a breeze! It took me half the time that the regular cookie press would take. I found that 1 click made a good size cookie and 2 clicks made (in my opinion) too big of a cookie...just depends on your preference. I did not experience any pressure issues with tops popping off or anything else that was mentioned as a negative (I read through the reviews prior to my purchase). If you wish to have more control than 1 click or 2, you always have the option of using the metal release and forcing the top down. An important thing to note is that this does not have the 3 metal feet that the aluminum presses generally have. With this press you simply make sure that that the plastic touches the cookie sheet do your clicks and pull off.

I also used this gadget for icing cupcakes, and it worked out great. Again, no pressure issues, or any to speak of. I did find that holding down the metal release was a little awkward, but it's so much easier than a pastry bag where everything spills out.

The clear storage case is a HUGE plus (BTW the case has rubber feet on the bottom to hold it in place). The value is good considering that you get essentially two gadgets in one- cookie press and cake decorator; twelve cookie plates, and six decorating tips.
