What a fantastic little gizmo! Seriously, I have and use quite a few processors here at home, including two 11 cup Cuisinarts, one very large (commercial Robot Coupe), a smaller Kitchen Aid and they all operate fine. However, they take up a lot of space in my kitchen whether on the counter or in the cupboards. I bought this little guy for when I have just small amounts to chop and I don't know why but I was really amazed at what a great job it did doing smaller amounts. I should have known that Kuhn Rikon wouldn't send something to market that didn't work, I seriously love their kitchen gagets and have many of them here at home. When I got it home I took an onion to try it out and had great results. I was making short ribs and wanted the onion dice finely, I quartered a medium onion and put it in the bowl and gave the string 5 pulls and got just the perfect size onion pieces for my dish. It rinses out so much quicker than it takes to disassemble any of my food processors so it now stays out on my counter and gets used a lot. Will I get rid of my processors? No, but for small tasks you just can't beat this little gizmo, if I had to chop a whole bag of onions I might get tired doing it with this chopper and would use one of the bigger processors but for smaller tasks I don't think you can beat it.

The Swiss do it best!Jan 15, 2011
By vee Several months ago I began investigating which hand chopper to buy. I was dissatisfied after reading the reviews, so went to the local gourmet kitchen store. They had several kinds, but were selling lots of the Chop Chop, so I took a chance ($32.00).
Great little machine! I have chopped nuts, cucumbers, onions, parsley, rolled oats and raw carrots. Everything gets chopped with surprising uniformity, and it is so easy to clean!
Might not be the best for the very frail, as the cord takes a little strength to pull. The blades are too sharp for a five year old to clean. Otherwise, it is darn near perfect. Glad to see they are starting to sell this little gem on Amazon.

Throw away your CuisinartSep 15, 2010
By Norma Jaffe I used to chop nuts, carrots, onions, shallots, celery, hard boiled eggs, you name it - in my cuisinart. This little tool is amazing - it chops easily and you get the exact size without all the moisture that you would if you used the Cuisinart. I've even made liver patee. This is a super great gift but be careful - it has very very sharp blades but works like a dream.

Excellent product, time saver with great resultsMar 29, 2011
By Reviews on Amazon We love to cook and there are many gadgets out there that help make things easier - but sometimes they simply take up too much space or become too much of a hassle to drag out, assemble, clean and then store again, so many tend to disappear into the back of the kitchen cupboard, never to be seen again until they are thrown away or donated! Not so with this great little gadget!
We own several pieces by Kuhn Rikon, yet each time are amazed by the quality and effectiveness for the price you pay! This Swiss Chop Chop does the job of a food processor, and in same cases, a far better job. It is compact, so better for smaller projects but we find this is just the thing to chop herbs, onions, olives, nuts etc. You can make a simple bruschetta in a matter of minutes, where the items are evenly chopped and clean up is a breeze!
You simply pop off the top, add your ingredients and pull the little cord a few times to work the spinning action of the blade - like all Rikon products, the blade is incredibly sharp and this lends to its effectiveness! The other neat thing is it is very easy to get all your food back out of the canister, whereas sometimes with a food processor, some of the ingredients get stuck in the bottom! It is so easy and I find that the items are well chopped! Also, it is far easier to control the consistency - you can stop the chopping action at once when you think you are at the right stage, or continue with single chops until you feel the size is right - with a food processor, it is so fast, it is easy for food to turn to mush!
This is very simple to clean and the blade comes with a nice little protective sleeve to pop on after use! Both great features!
I would highly recommend this gadget, its compact so takes up very little room in the cupboard, and so easy to use and clean, we use this far more than any other gadget in our kitchen!

Favorite kitchen toolApr 04, 2011
By kace77 This is the greatest kitchen tool I have ever owned! It saves a ton of time and is really easy to clean up. I wish they made an industrial sized Chop-Chop because I would buy it too!
Make sure you don't get the lid (with the pull-string) wet. It just needs wiped with a paper towel. (This is in the instruction booklet if you read it).
