4Picture MisleadingApr 11, 2010
By Jennifer Caputo "jencaputo"
From the picture I assumed I would receive both the Lemon and the Lime saver. I see now that the description says you will receive either a green one or a yellow one, guess I should have read better.
I like the lemon saver though, it works great and is saving me from using so many plastic baggies. I just wish you got both and now I'm not sure how I can get the Lime one since the description says you will randomly get one or the other...

5Lemon/Lime keeperOct 12, 2008
By V. A. Haggerty
This is the best thing to keep lemons or limes fresh once they have been cut. If you only use half of the lemon or lime, this stores the other half and keeps it fresh for up to a week or longer. Great product but hard to find in the stores.

5Great for preventing lemons from spoilingJul 22, 2009
By LoveBugLena
This lemon saver is great for preserving the quality of your lemons and allows them to last longer without spoiling when you cut them open. The price for this product is very affordable and it is easy to wash with soap and water if needed. The size is not too big and fits easily into the refrigerator fruit/vegetable compartment. The lemon fits nicely inside the saver too. Unless you get a huge lemon. Then you might have yourself a dilemma. :)

1mold thrives with thisSep 25, 2011
By C. Brown
My wife bought one of these convinced that it would preserve the lemons we use for drinks. I believed it to be just more plastic kitchen clutter but was willing to conduct a test. We put a cut-open lemon (one wedge removed) in the fridge uncovered and we put another cut-open lemon (both purchased at the same time) in this plastic container.

Within a week, the uncovered lemon showed signs of drying but was still perfectly usable. The lemon placed in this plastic pod had developed a white mold and had to be thrown out.

Realizing that the only difference was in the humidity, I tried drilling holes in the plastic pod to allow some of the moisture from the lemon to escape. This helped to extend the time before the mold appeared but did not stop it from making the lemon useless long before the fully exposed lemon was too dry for use.

Save your money and simply keep your lemons in the produce compartment of your fridge. This item serves no useful purpose, promotes spoilage of a lemon rather than retarding it and takes up far more space that a lemon alone. If you feel you must contain a lemon, just put it in a Ziploc sandwich bag, a whole box of which may be purchased for the price of this lemon-shaped gimmick.

4Lemons or Limes??May 19, 2011
By Evan Weststrate
I ordered two, figuring I that the people packing these nice little containers would put a bit of thought into it and send me ONE OF EACH COLOR. Duh. Didn't happen - I got two yellows. So unless I break out the magic marker, I won't know which are my limes and which are my lemons! I can see no way to pick a color on Amazon.
