5I Love This Pan!Aug 30, 2005
By Librarian
This pan is fabulous! I am a huge fan of scones, but never managed to cut them into neat, tidy triangles, so always resorted to patting the dough out into a circle and scoring it. This nifty pan takes care of the triangles. Just put the dough into the 16 triangles, pop the pan in the oven, and bake. The scones come out golden. Turn the pan upside down, give a couple of quick shakes and the scones slide right out. Since buying this pan, I have used it exclusively for my scones.

When first using the Mini-Scone pan, I was concerned the smaller size of the scones would mean a shorter baking time. I baked several recipes in the pan, and the cooking time was not affected.

The only drawback is the pan is not dishwasher safe. Since it is non-stick it cleans quickly with some sudsy water and a rinse.

For some good recipes to use in the Mini-Scone pan try:

Winnie-the-Pooh's Tea Time Cookbook. Full of tasty, little treats for when rumbly tumblys want something sweet.

For mystery lovers who love food-

5Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all. - Harriet van HorneMar 14, 2008

I make scones all the time as my love of scones has rubbed off upon my son and husband. I had originally purchased the NordicWare Scottish Scone/Cornbread Pan and while that is a wonderful scone pan, my recent purchase of this one has moved it to 2nd place on my preference list.

I favor the smaller scones made with this pan. With the large pan I felt one scone was almost too much to eat, I still managed of course, but was left with that too full feeling. With these smaller scones, I can have two and not feel like I am going to explode, and I can sample a variety of flavors.

The pan itself is of the highest quality. It's heavy, it's thick and durable and the scones pop right out leaving the pan looking like it was never used. Every time I bake scones I am amazed at how easy they come out of the pan without having to grease or butter it before baking.

I don't own a dishwasher but if I did, this is one pan I wouldn't put in it. In the days when I had a dishwasher (those were the days) I always omitted the most special cooking pans and dishes, preferring to give them a more gentle hand cleaning.

As someone who enjoys her time in the kitchen, cooking and baking, its products like this that thrills me to bits. NordicWare bake ware is a relatively new discovery for me, but if this is an example of the standard of product they put out, it's a name I will continue to look for when purchasing cookware.

It produces nicely baked mini scones. Nordicware is an excellent company that manufactures high quality products. I would ony suggest that Nordicware include tested recipes for the mini-scone pan.

5greatest thing since sliced breadJul 01, 2009
By Francine Weistrop
Cooking gadgets usually get boring after the novelty wears off, but not this one. I always loved scones, except the ones I baked myself because they usually came out lumpy looking and of many sizes. This pan has turned me into an almost daily scone baker, just for the fun of seeing how great they look. I give them away because they multiply in my freezer and the recipients are amazed at how evenly shaped they are. They also produce scones of a more modest size, so the recipient does not feel guilty at eating more than one.
I have given a pan to my granddaughter on the other side of the country and we have almost daily conversations about our shared love. She even photographed her first batch and sent it so I could see how lovely they turned out.
For the practical part, the pan washes easily with warm, soapy water and doesn't take up much space.
A definite A+.
It is not an inexpensive item, but well worth the price for the happiness it brings.
