 Sink Mat is just what I wanted...May 09, 2009

This sink mat is perfect for what I wanted--something that would keep my pots and pans off the floor of the sink and thus prevent those gray marks on my porcelain sink. It has little legs that keep it up off the bottom of the sink, and it doesn't trap food particles. It provides a cushion for breakables. It has no metal parts to create unsightly rust. I can pop it into the dishwasher occasionally to make sure it stays clean and sanitary.

sturdy, and does its job. It feels good to have it in my kitchen. Wish they made these in sizes that would fit my full-sink dimensions of 19 x 17. Either a bit larger size or 2 small ones. No company makes sizes that fit the large sinks which are common all round the bay area of northern California.

So far this sink mat has done a great job. It's a nice looking mat, doesn't have that cheap plastic look. It's been durable, not wilting under all the dishes I leave in the sink. And the biggest bonus is that it's stopped my cat from peeing in the sink.

I bought this mat quite a while ago and it has held up well. Water is not trapped under to cause mold. The two problems I have: It has left scratches on my stainless steel sink and it does not have a hole in the center for the strainer so the whole mat has to be lifted 2 or three times a day to remove and empty the strainer. I used to have a rack made by Rubbermaid that I liked a lot but have been unable to find except in small size. It also made scratches in the sink but since it only had 4 spots touching, they were fewer.
