Looks nice, but doesn't work so wellSep 26, 2008

I bought this kettle for it's modern and sleek appearance. It looks just as nice as it does in the photos, and the click to open/click to close button on the kettle works well. However, there's a few things I'd improve about this kettle. First, filling it is a bit difficult, as the handle doesn't move, so you have to angle it just right to fill it with water from your sink's faucet. Secondly, it pours a little strangely. Rather than a nice stream, water comes out in a splashy manner, making it rather easy to get a few drops of boiling water on your hands if you're holding the cup you're pouring the water into. Lastly, it doesn't heat as fast as some other kettles. I would recommend this kettle if looks are more important or if you don't need to use a kettle except once in a while.

Good & StylishJan 21, 2009
By Wade Armstrong This kettle is maybe even better-looking than in the photos, and works well to boot. I drink several cups of tea a day, and this kettle works great for me. The opening on the top is large enough that you can wash inside and wide enough that it's as easy-to-fill as any other kettle with a fixed handle. The handle stays cool unless you fill the kettle to the very brim. You need to tilt the kettle to a very sharp angle to pour the water, and at first I didn't believe I needed to tilt it so far -- probably why the other reviewer didn't get a steady stream out of it. Once tilted far enough it pours with a nice steady stream.
I can't decide if I like the way the spout opens and closes -- there's a trigger to open and a button to close. It's comfortable to use but I have a mild tendency to leave the spout open after pouring.
Overall, the kettle feels heavy and well-made. I think this will stick around for a while.

Love this tea kettleMar 29, 2009

I had the other Oxo Good Grips tea kettle that opens by tilting, and after a few near misses with boiling hot water almost spilling out because I was unsteady, I bought this one. It is big enough for about 4 cups of water and the whistle is LOUD! I was worried that there would be steam coming out of the lid and onto the handle, but that is not the case. The lid fits so tightly that the steam stays in, yet it is easy to remove to allow you to add water and clean the kettle. The handle does not move...a plus for me. Great red color too. Would definitely buy again and will give as gift.

It's OK. Looks Nice, some DrawbacksFeb 07, 2010
By SCSILR I had a Copco hunter green kettle for years and years. The handle never got hot, it seemed to heat quickly and clean up just as quickly. It finally died. I could not find a replacement and learned that particular model I had was discontinued (isn't that always the case). I looked and looked but found nothing I liked, and absolutely no dark green kettles. So I got this one. It is nice looking, but nothing spectacular. The biggest complaint I have is that the handle does get very hot, and I disagree strongly with another reviewer who said it does not get hot unless you fill the kettle to the brim. The handle gets hot, water to the brim, or not to the brim. It is also a bit quirky and difficult to pour out the boiled water. It does a nice whistle, though. What else can I say. it looks nice, but you sort of don't want to use it as much with a hot handle, hard to pour water....I wouldn't buy another, but I am pleased others like it. Not me.

Great Kettle!Apr 13, 2010
By Christena G I am in love with this tea kettle! It is extremely attractive but also durable. Our old kettle showed much wear and tear and grease since we often left it on the stovetop when cooking. This kettle doesn't show the grease because of the enamel, and you can easily pour tea without a hot pad because of the great lid. A wonderful product, like all Oxo products, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! The red is a vibrant color that makes our kitchen come together.
We use tea kettles every morning for tea and coffee (using a French press), so we need a kettle that will last and look great. We have had this one for 6 weeks, using at least once a day (and cooking on the stovetop) and it still looks brand new.
