Try the OXO Good Grips Large Silicone Basting Brush, which works like a natural bristle brush but with the added conveniences of heat resistance, odor resistance and cleanability. Multiple layers of silicone bristles tackle all tasks. Gaps in the center bristles hold liquid as you transfer sauce from the bowl to the grill, and tapered outer bristles let you baste poultry, chops and steaks with ease. The silicone bristles are heat resistant to 600°F so you can baste in a hot pan or on the grill, and the angled Brush head keeps bristles off the countertop. This long handled Brush keeps hands safely away from the grill. Cleanup is easy in the dishwasher, and these bristles won't clump, frizz or retain odors. | | | Features: | |
• Circles in center bristles hold liquids for easy transport and spreading
• Tapered outer bristles glide over poultry and roasts for easy basting
• Extended length keeps hands safely away from grill
• Angled head keeps bristles off countertops
• Heat resistant to 600°F - do not expose to direct flame

This baster is great!!Jul 05, 2008
By Judy L. Prior to getting the Oxo basting brush, I used a bristle one. I was a bit skeptical as to how a silicone brush could hold basting liquids. When I used it the first time, I was surprised that it actually holds more liquid than the old bristle brush. I was so impressed with this brush, I ordered other sizes to have them handy.

Wonderful, long-handled basting brushJul 17, 2008

I bought this to use on a barbeque and this brush is great. The handle is long enough so you do not get your hands hot. The bristles are made of silicone, so easier to clean than older plastic brushes. Bought 2 just in case I need another.

A fantastic toolAug 04, 2009
By Diane Kistner I purchased this basting brush to apply egg or cornstarch washes to bread dough prior to baking. I find I keep it in a spoon rest on the stove with a little oil to quickly and lightly coat any pan I'm using before frying. It is a fantastic little brush. It really does sop up and hold a lot of basting liquid, and I don't have to worry about it melting or strands of brush falling out.

Works great!!May 31, 2009
By Lady McFick This brush has two distinct factors: First- it holds a variety of sauces whether thick or thin. Second- It does not retain any odor or staining. And...it can go in the dishwasher!!!!

Excellent for Grilling!Aug 27, 2009
By California Duet I bought three silicone grill brushes for my husband, and this one was the clear winner.
One of the losing brushes had a very small brush head; it was impossible to get or hold a decent amount of oil, sauce, etc. The other losing brush was way too heavy for its size, and had an awkward, strange handle.
This brush has an excellent brush head (holds a lot of sauce very well), a very comfortable handle (thanks, Good Grips!), and makes cleanup super easy (throw it in the dishwasher). This is a lot of brush for the money, and another great OXO product!
