easy to read, seems quite accurateNov 25, 2007
By Holly Holton I have had this thermometer for about two years; using it mainly on poultry. It is a large, well made, and easy to read thermometer. It seems to accurately report the internal temperature of the poultry, as we have neither had over- or underdone meat when relying on this. I would not recommend submerging this or any other meat thermometer in water when cleaning, as the rim where the metal parts meet does not appear to be airtight. I am currently shopping for a meat thermometer to give as a gift and will be purchasing this one again.

Not my favoriteJul 03, 2006
By jcb I handwashed this one time and it filled up with water. I didn't expect to be able to wash it in the dishwasher but I also didn't expect it to fill 45% up with water the first time I washed it by hand. The water has since evaporated but I haven't tried to use the thermometer since and I won't use it without using a second one to calibrate this one to see if it is anywhere close to accurate. Not exactly what I was looking for.
