Try the OXO Good Grips Silicone Basting Brush, which works like a natural bristle brush but with the added conveniences of heat resistance, odor resistance and cleanability. Multiple layers of silicone bristles tackle all tasks. Gaps in the center bristles hold liquid as you transfer sauce from the bowl to the work surface, and tapered outer bristles let you baste poultry and roasts with ease. The silicone bristles are heat resistant to 600 degrees F so you can baste in a hot pan or on the grill, and the angled Brush head keeps bristles off the countertop. Cleanup is easy in the dishwasher, and these bristles won't clump, frizz or retain odors. | | | Features: | |

Bigger than I thoughtNov 05, 2009

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R13GPFS5BXM5OH When I read "pastry" brush, I thought this would be quite dainty and I was considering buying the larger model. I am glad I did not as this brush is quite beefy. (see my video review) I haven't used for any basting yet, but like most of Oxo products it looks and feels well made.

By kaly This is a gentle and useful pastry brush that will not leave bristles in your food. It holds a lot of liquid to spread and cleans easily. The best!

By AK the magazine "cooks illustrated" (a consumers reports of cooking) recomended this brush. they liked that the bristles would not warp and that it will hold alot of basting liquid in it's bristles. they rated it first among other basting brushes.

Best basting brush ever!Apr 26, 2008
By Kintaru America's Test Kitchens recommended this brush and I thought I would try it. It exceeded my expectations in every possible way. I use it for BBQ Sauce when I grill. It picks up so much sauce in the unusually shaped bristles and doesn't drip at all. Each silicon "bristle" has a channel that holds the sauce - this is what makes it so effective. Cleaning is a breeze. As soon as I am done grilling, I run it under warm water and it cleans immediately as if it had never been used. As usual, America's Test Kitchens know what they are talking about! You won't find a better brush than this one - it doesn't exist.

I've put off buying a silicone basting brush - they just didn't look efficient. But, I used a friend's and was totally sold on them. I love this particular OXO - it holds a lot of basting sauce/liquid, washes up like a dream and doesn't mess up the counter when you place it down between bastings. I use it for everything, not just baking. Will buy one with a longer handle for bbq.
