Not only does it drain the liquid from foods, but it can also be immersed in boiling water so you can cook right inside it! Use it to blanch or parboil vegetables like broccoli, green beans, snap peas, spinach and edamame. Simply lift the Colander directly out of boiling water and immerse it in ice water, or run it under the tap, to ensure your vegetables stay green and crisp. Try it for boiling shrimp and dumplings, and for traditional uses like draining pasta, berries and more. The basket has a cylindrical shape and sits below the top of your pot for added capacity. The Colander has a soft, non-slip handle and a hook so it can be easily rested over a pot or bowl, and can also be used to quickly steam foods inside a saucepan. The Silicone Colander collapses flat for easy storage. At 6.75¿ in diameter, it is ideal for use in standard 3 and 4 quart saucepans. The Silicone Colander is heat-resistant to 600ºF, safe for non-stick cookware and dishwasher safe. | | | Features: | |

Roomy, easy to clean and store.Jan 28, 2008
By R. Arthur Just what I was looking for! It's big enough to drain a large amount of pasta and is easy to clean - dishwasher or by hand. No more gunky stuff stuck in the holes of a metal colander. Stores in a small space since it collapses flat. It also has a rim so it will rest on the top of a pan.

This is strainer is fun to use and drains wellNov 12, 2008
By Amiable Cook There are plenty of holes evenly-spaced around the basket. The handle feels strong and comfortable making this a pleasure to use. It's a pretty opaque blue; I like to look at, hanging with my pots n pans. The size fits perfectly in my 3-qt. Cuisinart Chef's Classic saucepan, it's as tho they were made for each other.
Liked this strainer so much, I'm purchasing the 3.5-qt. colander in the matching blue. I hope it stands up well in the sink, like standard metal and hard-plastic ones.
Thanks, Amazon, for the variety of kitchenware you have available, and the 4-3 and free super-saver shipping offers!

good enoughApr 03, 2009
By Mario Pardo-Friedman Quite good, but for my taste a little small; I should have ordered the larger size. My experience with Oxo has almost always been positive and this is no exception. The collapsing feature is nice but not really necessary even in my small kitchen. I do have some concern about the silicone eventually breaking down around the folds but that shouldn't be for quite some time.

I've been watching collapsible collanders for awhile now, waiting for one that collapses "smaller", as most have been too bulky. This one is great, now I'm checking to see if they make one in a 3 qt. size. I have so little cabinet space! I love that you can cook right in this one -- like a fry basket for water.
