2Loved These Until...Mar 20, 2009
By Avid Camper "WS"
I loved these, so much, I purchased several of them (always in the dishwasher). But after about 6 months or so, the bottom half of the two-piece handles came unglued, one by one, rendering them useless. I tried to find a way to glue them, but the handle is ridged inside with large hollow spaces, so I couldn't come up with an effective repair. Also, I didn't like that the handles trapped dirt and water, which would slowly leak out. However, they scraped very well, while they lasted. The blade (which is just flexible enough) is thin enough to reach into most small-mouthed jars. The handle is long, 11" end to end. I would not buy again, unless handle is redesigned. I hope this helps.

3you'll love silicone for cooking, scraping and spreadingNov 15, 2008
By George Dennison "GeoNOregon"
This summer I bought several Rubbermaid silicone spatulas & silicone spoon spatulas. I was disappointed they didn't have the half-spatulas, (jar scrapers, spreaders) in silicone. I recently added a variety of silicone spreaders and spatulas to a larger order of other items, (free shipping on all).

I can't say enough about silicone utensils - great for cooking, great for scraping and clean up easily. I soak my silverware before they go into the dishwasher. I added a second large yogurt container of soapy water for the silicone and rubber spatulas, etc.

Unless the food is oily, (mayo) or sticky, (peanut butter), I just rinse with hot water after a short soak.

Each type has it's own specific use, so one of each, at least, two if you can afford it. If you have to pick just one, get a jar scraper. If budget is two, add a spoon spatula.

In the long run, they will pay for themselves: silicone makes it possible to get 99.9% of food from a container. I have some brand-new rubber spatulas, it's hard to get a container or bowl as clean. The silicone glides, the rubber jerks across the surface.

I like the OXO handle, but the two piece design is a draw-back. I imagine gunk will get inside the blade, just like always. (if one piece design, would get 5 of 5)

The jar spatula has an almost knife like sharpness to the edge; it won't cut ya, but it'll get a container clean! Very flexible tip - (flexs at about mid-length of the blade)

5FANTABULOUS!Mar 17, 2008
By Dog Lover
I have been looking for a spatula that will fit into glass bottles (i.e. dressing, ketchup) and THIS IS IT. This is long and narrow enough to fit easily.

The spatula top removes for washing.
Tag says heat resistant up to 600 degrees F.
Handle is black, spatula is white.

Previously, the only other one that I found that came close was one by Le Creuset, but it has a wooden handle, which I do not care for. I love the Trudeau spatulas but they do not make one this narrow. Zyliss also, too wide.

Yes, I am a spatula fanatic.

The only way this spatula could be better is if it was one piece and "spoon" shaped.

5Oxo Good Grips Silicone Jar Spatula a great purchaseDec 25, 2008
By Jen's Mom
The Oxo Good Grips Silicone Jar Spatula is a great spatula. I bought several for my daughter and me. I could not find thin-bladed spatulas in the stores. They are long-handled to reach down into a tall jar and the blades are thin enough to get the last goodies out of a small-mouth jar. The silicone blade is soft and pliable, but resistant to high heat. They do a great job on scraping plates and pans, also.

5Great length!Jan 13, 2009

Just a smart design. How many times do we leave a portion of mayo or sauce in a jar because we simply can't reach the bottom or find the tool to hit the edges? This will get it done. Well made, well priced. Buy it!
