Clean-up in a snapMay 06, 2006
By C. Gore Dishes used to pile up in the sink because we have no dishwasher, and with only 2 of us, we didn't want to have to drag out the dish tub and drying rack just to wash a few small dishes. I picked up this scrub wand mainly to get my coffee mug washed out quickly in the mornings, but I found myself using it for so much more. The dishes don't pile up anymore because this wand makes it so easy to quickly "squish" out the dishes to wash them. Great for washing glasses, plates, bowls - and if you have the non-scrub wand head, it's perfect for pots and pans too (we have a collection of non-stick and don't want to scratch them with the scrub head). Just run the hot water, squish the wand tip on the bottom of a glass with a little bit of water in it to start the foaming soap, and wash away all the grime of cooking quickly! Perfect for washing small loads of dishes and for people with limited time for doing dishes!

Has quickly become my favorite dishwashing tool...Jan 15, 2007
By Gina C. This is an amazingly useful dishwashing tool. I was skeptical upon purchasing this item as I am not a big fan of sponges, but I am very glad I did. While you might tend to think of this as a tool mainly for washing glasses, I have found that I use it for almost everything. Why? For one, the design is great. The fact that the sponge completely encircles the bottom of the wand, instead of simply being on one side, makes it very easy to swipe in and around a number of dishes. Secondly, the material of the sponge is GREAT. It is almost a plastic mesh material (as a sponge) that cleans easily and holds up great. It does not flake, and it scrubs really well without being abrasive. I definitely recommend this product. Simply love it!

Simply AmazingApr 29, 2007
By K. McCune Let me just start out by saying that I've never been a fan of scrub wands. I don't like them. Give me an old fashioned sponge and soap, and my elbow grease can do the rest. 'Nuff said.
So why then did I buy this wand, and why do I love it so much. It started when I decided to start canning my own foods. I asked around for canning jars, figuring plenty of people had them going to waste in their basements. Well, sure enough, my friend hauls out of his dirt floor basement the nastiest, dirty old jars I'd ever laid eyes on. In fact, some of them still had lids that had rusted onto the tops, and a few had rust on the inside bottom of the jars. This was not a job for a regular dish sponge but I was determined to give it a try anyway. After a fruitless effort using my scrub pad and the handle of a spoon to scrub the insides of these jars, I gave up and decided to find a scrub wand.
So, I lugged my poor boyfriend out to several different kitchen and bath stores, but none of them had anything that looked like it might do the job. The closest was akin to a miniature toilet brush. So, finally I talked him in to making one more trip to a different store, and that's where we found this magnificent brush. Naturally, if I'd known about it before, I'd have just purchased it here, but alas, this is my first real foray into scrub wands. I digress...
I found this wand, and I really didn't expect it to work, but it looked better than any I'd ever seen before, and OXO has a good reputation, so I bought it and gave it a try. Boy am I ever glad I did! Not only did it get the rust off, but the spongy part cleaned the up the insides of the jars spectacularly. Considering the scrubber took rust off, it actually makes me wonder how safe it is for delicate and non-stick cookware, but there are heads available which are just sponges without the scrub bottom. Some reviewers have said that the sponge tends to separate from the plastic. After hard scrubbing of several dozen very dirty quart Mason jars, I have not experienced this. I also have not washed anything delicate with it, so I can't attest to how it would do washing stemware, for instance. My guess is that it would do as good a job, or better, than anything else out there. Some have also said that the handle is not like other OXO handles, and that it is hard plastic. This is only somewhat true. The actual handle material itself is not as soft a rubber as some other OXO products, but it does have a comfortable grip. As well, if you are scrubbing hard, the ridged area does flex a bit. However, it is also true that the wand area itself, where the soap is stored, is a hard plastic. It is every bit as hard as all other wands I've ever seen though, so this should not be a deterrent if you are looking for an exceptional dish wand.
The cost was also right. There were some that were half again what this cost, and not as good a product. As far as I'm concerned, it has more than paid for itself. I'm generally not an OXO fan because they market everything on the "good grips" principle, which I don't care about. I care about function, and this performs. I passed up several other name brands, including a shiny red Kitchen Aid. If you want something to match your decor, this might not be the brush. If you want function, you've found it.
My jars sparkle just like they were new out of the box, and I couldn't be more impressed with the performance of this product.

Great for GlassesJan 22, 2007

"A Want-to-Be Domestic"
If you own an assortment of thin, long glasses like we do (pilsners, flutes, etc.) this brush is a must. We haven't had any problems with breakage, and it quickly dries if kept upright in its suction holder. The downside is that it has to stay in the sink to dry and it gets knocked over sometimes being in the way and I can't imagine the colors actually matching anyone's color pattern. But well worth the investment to properly hand clean glasses (especially those that are not dishwasher safe).

Great for baby bottlesMay 24, 2008
By Nick Lake
"Vishu"
Great for baby bottles compared to other bottle brushes that got dingy or rust marks over time. I gave it 4 stars because you always have to remember to put it away properly and can't just leave it laying in the sink like other oxo brushes. The soap will sponge out.
