Great Strainer!Dec 25, 2007
By Chris Leland Years ago I had a plastic Strainer that looked much the same, but I have been able to locate a replacement. I then found this one and decided to give it a try. Its very nice and can be used either handed. I love it!

awesome, effective, convenient strainer!!!Feb 24, 2010
By anonymous like many folks, i hate regular bowl-shaped strainers that are also difficult to wash that i'd rather pour the water out with the lid or a fork leaning against the lip of the pot. this one fits perfectly over my cuisinart 2-qt and 4-qt saucepans/pots. yes, you do have to take a bit more care while pouring because you can't just dump the content out, but the strainer was large enough to handle maybe 3 servings of spaghetti.
this won't strain as thoroughly as a traditional collander since shaking out all the water won't be as easy, but if you're okay with maybe a tablespoon of water (or even less) left in the pot, this is perfectly fine. maybe it's not for penne or rigatoni for some folks, but even with those pastas, i'd reach for these over any collander. really, it's such a teensy amount of water, so little that it's not worth deducting a star. i'm just mentioning it in case someone absolutely has to get rid of all the water for some reason.
it also cleans up so easily!! hand-washing is a breeze, or just throw it in the dishwasher.

I got one these pot strainers in my last divorce settlement, and I use it all the time. The plastic handle has been broken as long as I can remember. Then I found love again, problem is I am right handed and she is is left handed... I looked all over for one with the lip on the other side to no avail...Then I found this one, stainless steel, double sided lip, & the price was right...

good itemFeb 05, 2011
By jsjeff i really like this item. i purchased one years ago and it had a wooden handle which eventually fell apart. i needed a new one and i choose this one. i like the fact this has a metal handle that will not fall apart. i also like the fact you can use it right handed or left handed, however, i wish the lip on both sides were just a deep as they are not.

Lefty's will love this.Feb 04, 2011
By HDgirl I received this product when promised and in good condition. I am left-handed it is very difficult to find cooking utensils that are comfortable to use (since most items are designed for right-handed people). This strainer has a lip on both sides so it works just as well whether you are right or left handed. I am very pleased with this purchase.
