 Elegant design yet extremely functionalMay 01, 2009

I looked long and hard for a decent looking yet functional oil decanter. This one, for me, fits that description to a "T". The rubberized bottom and grip keep it from slipping, and I love the little cap that covers the spout. It holds just enough oil so that keeping it near the stove it's not an excessive amount (and therefore would quickly turn rancid), yet enough so that I don't have to keep re-filling it too often.

The spout cover on these was very tight when I bought it. It loosened up with some hot water from the tap and then I was able to take it off.
Once I washed them (I bought 2 one for olive oil and 1 for peanut oil), I was able to put the spout cover on just lightly so that it was easy to take off.
I have gone through MANY oil cans, oil misters, and cruets over the last 18 years. The glass ones broke. The misters jammed.
What I really like about this one is that it is solidly built stainless steel. Stainless has nice antibacterial properties. The rubberized handles means that it doesn't slip out of your hands.
The lid (with airhole) fits very nicely. The rubberized bottom means that it won't scratch your counter.
A little oil does drizzle down the spout when you use it. Annoying, but not a big deal for me...

I love this decanter. I have had numerous glass decanters over the years that have broken one way or another. I found out it is much better to store olive oil from light in stainless steel. After searching all over for a stainless decanter, I decided to go with this one. It looks great. Feels great in my hand. Pours nicely and is easy to control with no drips. I have not found any difficulty taking the little cap off as someone mentioned earlier. You will be glad you bought this one, I know I am.

I had been looking for an oil dispenser that wouldn't leak, drip or lose it's stopper down inside the bottle. This was the one I chose and I haven't regretted purchasing it. It's easy to fill and the lid won't fall off when pouring. It goes perfect with my stainless and black appliances.

I just recently started buying my olive oil in gallon cans, so I needed a dispenser that would be both functional and easy on the eyes. I thought it might drip a little, but really haven't had too much trouble with it. Probably doesn't hold as much oil as other dispensers, but that's ok with me.
