Well, maybe, could be because many chefs use it. But you created this cubed salad, with your Toss & Chop. You minced the garlic and shallots with your Mince & Chop. The attractive Italian design looks good in the kitchen and on the table. These fine implements are high quality stainless steel with micro-serrated edges that never need sharpening (it seems as though they stay sharp forever), so they should be creating elegant salads for generations. Used in leading hotels and restaurants throughout Europe! They come as a pair, so be prepared for salads that look as good as they taste. | | | Features: | |

Hated it, flawed design, empty promisesNov 14, 2007

"Being an Earthling, Living One Life At A Time"
I paid $20 for the combo pack which includes the Toss & Chop & the new Cut & Slice. The latter doesn't cut nor slice any raw meat that I tried it on, my 20-yr old kitchen scissors (never sharpened once) perform a much better job than it. But let's focus on the Toss & Chop here: Firstly, it can't cut onions in whole or halved forms, so you still need to bring out your knife & cutting board. You put all moderately chopped vegetables in a bowl & start to use this, a lot of objects get pushed to the sides & get missed, a lot of objects get tugged in between the dual blades, but worst of all, stuff start to fly all over out of the bowl. It happened each & every single time I used this. Now about cleaning, the manual already warns that this should be dried w/ a towel or else rust can occur. They are so right & probably because they know how low-grade stainless steel that they used. I used mine only a couple of times, hand-washed & air-dried overnight & it's now rusting! My 20-yr old kitchen scissors & all my other knives look newer than this! AND, a serious design flaw: This thing has way too many unnecessary crevices & voids & channels to trap food & to make thorough cleaning almost impossible. Other than the above, it does shop up veggies plenty well, just make sure to collect the flown away food from your countertop & floor...

best tool in the kitchenJan 30, 2010

"Jane"
excellent for chopping EVERYTHING into a salad--eggs, chicken, greens--prep for one or two people, faster than anything electric and you can control the texture

One of the best kitchen gadgets everMar 16, 2010
By T. Brown After having a chopped salad in a restaurant, I wanted to duplicate that at home. The Toss & Chop makes that quick and easy, right in the salad bowl. I only use it for the lettuce, and have had none of the problems mentioned by the one bad review. I don't recommend putting it in the dishwasher--I did that at first, and the spring rusted. (The company sent a replacement right away.) I use it almost every day and just rinse it off in hot water. I wish restaurants would use this item!

You will use this everyday too!Nov 19, 2008
By Beatrice Reese I use this kitchen tool everyday for one purpose or another. It will come in handy when you are preparing anything from chopped salad to cutting up baby food. I find myself grabbing the Toss & Chop instead of a knife if I am preparing chopped vegetable to make a meatloaf, or chopping tomatoes to make fresh salsa. The Toss & Chop cleans up very easily and the blades are micro-serrated so they never require sharpening. The company who manufactures the Toss & Chop have a great instructional video on their website( www.silvermk.com ). Check it out for proper use. If you do not use the tool correctly you will not benefit from the most amazing results.

"highly favored"
This is single-handedly the BEST way to chop veggies, lettuce, cabbage, etc. for salads/stir-fry. It takes all of the time, danger and misery out of chopping salad. Cuisinart...watch out!
