True BluesAug 24, 2007
By Candice L I have very sensitive skin and had developed a bad case of hand dermatitis from exposure to dish washing liquids and other cleaners. I needed waterproof gloves that would protect my hands during dish washing and other cleaning tasks. Since I'm allergic to latex, the usual yellow household gloves that are easy to find in the supermarket were not an option. After long search for a suitable pair, I found True Blues Household Gloves. They are made of heavy vinyl with a woven cotton liner. Stiff at first, after several uses they become more flexible. They are very easy to get on and off. They seem very durable and should last a long time. These are great gloves that I would recommend to anyone, but especially those looking for a hypo-allergenic protective household glove.

Latex-free and cotton- lined for comfort - the ultimate household gloves!Nov 19, 2010
By Jeffrey A

These are indeed the 'ultimate household gloves'. Being made of vinyl (and of course, latex free) is what makes them 'ultimate'. When my allergies act up, I seem to react to everything - including even the mildest dishwashing liquid. Hence the need for waterproof latex free gloves. These do the job just fine!
PROS:
These gloves are made of a tough vinyl shell that can withstand harsh dishwashing cleaners. The vinyl shell also insulates my hands so I can safely use really hot water when washing a sinkful of greasy dishes.
The vinyl around the glove's fingers and palm is slightly roughened for a good grip on soapy dishes.
The gloves have 5 inches long cuffs that can be worn folded back. (I fold the cuffs to prevent water running back to my arms while doing dishes). SEE PHOTOS IN CUSTOMER IMAGES
These gloves come in really cool colors making them fun to wear!
The generous cotton liner makes this kitchen glove super comfortable. The cotton liner also allows me slip these gloves on and off with utmost ease.
Gloves, especially, cotton lined gloves, would need washing. Machine wash (on gentle cycle) and line dry to get them really clean. HINT: Fold the cuffs all the way back to the fingers before machine washing ... and again to line dry. Your gloves would always be really clean and odor free.
CONS:
These vinyl gloves are thick. However, I adjusted quickly to the thickness without any loss of dishes! :)
New gloves are a bit stiff at first, but soften up nicely.
ABOUT SIZING: These cotton lined gloves slip on and off easily so, 'Medium' would be a snug fit for hands that would otherwise use 'Large' in the yellow household gloves. If you like your gloves loose fitting, then buy your regular glove size!
Overall, I recommend the True Blues Ultimate Household Gloves to anyone looking for gloves that are both comfortable and durable. If you are also looking for latex free hypo-allergenic household and garden gloves ... then you found them ... just decide on the color - green, red, purple, pink or plain old True Blue!
NOV 2011 UPDATE: After 1 year of dishwashing duty, my green True Blue gloves developed a pinhole leak and, are now retired to doing light duty as my 'dry weather' gardening gloves :)) I certainly got my money's worth out of these gloves. Still, I wouldn't mind if these gloves were more affordably priced - $10.95 is still a pricey investment :(
Hope my review was helpful - Jeffrey A. (Jeff)

WAY better than the cheap yellow latex....Jan 28, 2010
By Dyany Munson

I was sick and tired of replacing my cheap yellow latex gloves every other month, so when I saw these I figured I'd give them a try. They are GREAT. Once I got the right size, they were easy to put on & take off, and they easily protected my hands from the hottest dishwater and all of the sharp poky things at the bottom of the sink. The thickness of course makes them a little more clumsy than regular gloves, but you get used to it soon enough. They are far less slippery than I expected, too. Just make sure to wash them often (another nice feature) otherwise the cotton lining gets smelly.

Can't Grip, So Dishes Slip and breakieSep 11, 2010
By JD-shopper Horrible! I couldn't get a grip on my plates, bowls... no matter how hard I tried. I had read reviews about slippage, but thought I could be extra aware to avoid this, yet my plates slipped from my hands no matter how hard I tried. I will stick with the Martha Stewart brand of gloves, which are also a bit longer another plus, though the MS brand does loose its insulation a little too quickly. I'll save the Tru Blues for cleaning the toilet.

Slip Slidin' AwayDec 27, 2010
By Biz Markie My wife and I have been without a dishwasher for a few years and have been washing dishes by hand during this time. We just got a new set of really nice (and expensive) dinnerware, so I wanted to find some high-end gloves to use, with ONE specific purpose - to be able to grip the new dishes. The last thing I wanted was dishes slipping out of our hands and breaking or chipping on the sink. We've had this happen when using the higher-end Playtex rubber gloves. These True Blues gloves seemed to be the best household (that is, non-industrial) gloves available, based on the reviews. The item description even says they are grippy. Much to our horror and dismay, these gloves are ULTRA SLIPPERY when wet. They are far worse than the grocery store gloves she's been using. DO NOT BUY THESE GLOVES IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR GRIPPINESS! Ironically, the finish on the cuff of the gloves is extremely grippy, but the hands have a texturized surface that is slick as ice when wet. I am HORRIBLY disappointed in these gloves and will be seeking a refund. This is the first review I've done on Amazon because I am so disgusted and disappointed with these gloves. I am a real person and this is a real review! LOL
