 Love These Salt & Pepper Mills!Jan 23, 2012

We purchased both the salt and pepper mill. The only difference is thta the salt one has a white cap on it to let you know it is for salt. Loading Peppercorns, and Sea Salt in the other one was very easy to do. The grinders work very well, and unit is very solid. I can't speak for packaging as I bought mine locally, but the quality of the grinders is excellent and they work great without any issues. The finish has stayed just fine as well since the salt is contained on the INSIDE of the grinder there are no pitting issues of any kind.

Beautiful looking Salt mill purchased as NEW. But the COPPER LID/TOP has CORROSION PITS in the metal. Being a salt mill this will probably deteriorate quickly. Most disappointing that Amazon sent it out like that!! Disappointing too that Amazons packing was inadequate - both salt & pepper mills had little protective wrapping - the salt mill had none! They were rolling around in a big cardboard carton and only reached me by luck playing a part!
I would expect a retailer (Amazon) to take some responsibility for the products they sell, but their policy seems to be "Buyer Beware". If a product is defective then one has to negotiate with the manufacturer for a replacement, not Amazon, yet my contract to buy was with Amazon?????????
I have emailed William Bounds company to hopefully get a replacement lid and will update this review to let you know their response.

Despite the title, this item is *not* a dual-purpose salt and pepper mill, or two single-purpose mills. It is a single one-purpose, adjustable mill (the box is labelled "Salt Mill", although the instructions say to load peppercorns into the chamber). This is not what I expected to receive.
