Good Design, Bad MaterialsMar 22, 2009
By Boilermate Alton Brown sold me, but as other reviewers have said, this product leaves a lot to be desired.
For liquids, and semi-solids this cup should be the one to grab, but it's not. I have had one of these for several years now, and it should be "broken in", but it is just as stiff now as when I received it. I did everything the directions said. I hand washed it and I oiled the seal, but it is still a pain to put together and is difficult to move the plunger smoothly when assembled. I don't know what is different about the one AB uses, but mine is useless.
About the same time that Santa brought me this (and a 1 cup) I found a KitchenArt Pro 2 Cup Adjust-A-Cup on sale at BB&B. What a difference!! The Adjust-A-Cup goes together easily, doesn't stick or bind, and slides easily...no "breaking in" needed. When I recently broke the A-A-C I not only replaced it, bought the other two sizes available. The Wonder Cups are going to go to Good will.

Wonderful measuring cupJun 14, 2010
By A. Wallace I bought this measuring cup along with the smaller version after seeing them on Good Eats. I hate having to use plastic wrap in my dry measures for sticky ingredients like ketchup or peanut butter, and rubber spatulas don't always get the ingredients out well. These measuring cups are a great solution. The plunger scrapes the inside of the cup clean as it pushes the ingredients out, meaning more of the sticky ingredients actually make it into the recipe. It's easy enough to clean, too, since the two pieces separate easily and are large enough to fit our sponge brush.

Stiff to slide, but does the jobMar 05, 2010
By Cheryl Ann I've had one of these for several years and don't even know how I got it. I did not use it much until a couple of years ago when I got back into frequent baking. I started using it even more when I saw Alton using his. It is stiff to move (I use a wooden spoon to push it down to measure) but it does shove sticky molasses, honey and peanut butter cleanly out. I really like it for shortening. It is easy to clean and another reviewer mentioned the best way to put it back together - start at a slight angle and twist. In fact, twisting any time to move it helps. I did stop putting it in the dishwasher when I noticed the markings fading. I have serious arthritis in my hands so I am looking to try other models that might work easier. I also have one from Pampered Chef that a friend gave me a few months ago. I haven't used it much yet but it slides just as hard. As one reviewer pointed out - you do not want it to leak. The PC model markings seem to be more durable.

Works as describedNov 18, 2010
By Benjamin D. Geiser Several years ago I purchased the Kitchen Art Adjust-A-Cup (with the black gasket on the plunger) from a local store, and was extremely disappointed. Trying to accurately read the black lettering over a black gasket was extremely difficult, and the seal never seemed to hold, causing the cup to slowly slip to a different position as I tried to fill it. Eventually it got so bad that it would simply slide back down to the counter within a few seconds of being lifted. Ultimately I tossed it after the glued-on gasket pealed off and have been looking for a replacement ever since, which brings up the Wonder Cup. I've been extremely pleased thus far with this adjust-a-cup, which right off the bat addresses the visibility issue I had with the Kitchen Art by using a solid white plunger under black lettering. In addition, the plunger is a single piece of molded plastic (as opposed to a glued-on gasket) which so far is much more reliable and stable.

Wonder Cup 2- Cup measuring CupMar 16, 2010

I purchased the adjustable, 2-cup measuring cup to measure Crisco, peanut butter, etc. and I love it. I have a 1-cup and it is so each to measure -- just set it to the amount you want, put the Crisco or whatever in and then push it out. Much easier than using a regular measuring cup; everything comes out. I wish I would have gotten the 2-cup sooner.
