My new favorite kitchen tool!Feb 06, 2007

My daughter got me these tongs for Christmas and they are my new favorite kitchen tool! I love how easily they lock for storage in my kitchen drawer, and I love how I can use them in my non-stick pans. Before I would have to use a spatula to do the stirring and use the tongs only for serving. Not anymore. These tongs have silicone tips that are smooth to the touch and gentle on pans. It cuts back on the dishes I have to do. Furthermore, the tongs are comfortable and easy to use and they even match my red teapot and dish towels. I highly recommend them.

I must have used a dozen different tongs over the years. Finally, this one is perfect. It's got perfect tension, easily locks/unlocks with a clever slider, and can pick up anything at any temperature. A really perfect kitchen tool (perfection is something that's all too rare, alas, in kitchen equipment--look at how Cuisinart products have deteriorated over the past few years!).

I love these tongs as they have a slide button on the side which allows you to use one hand to use them. Some other models have a pull up tab on the top that requires the other hand to put them in the closed position. This is a pain while cooking. The Zyliss tongs have silicone tips and can pick up paper. I love. them.
