Does what it shouldJul 08, 2008

This fits my Oster Classic just fine. It is great for a quick one person smoothie in the morning. Basically just blend and go!
Instructions (since the description is vague):
* Throw all your ingredients into the cup.
* Screw your own blender blades right onto the top of the cup. The cup is threaded to fit most blenders.
* Blend
* Remove blender base
* add the lid
The lid isn't perfect. The opening flap can get in the way when you are trying to sip out of it. A straw fits well into the hole, though, so I recommend going that way.
It also comes with a shaker ring for breaking up protein powder etc, but I use it for smoothies so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

The mixing part works fine, easy to drink from. But, cleaning out the lid from flakes of the stuff you tried to mix up is impossible. You have to use a brush to get into the tight places, they should have molded it more solidly.

Not a good choice for Powdered DrinksMar 13, 2010

I generally like Zyliss products but this particular one has a bad lid design. I purchased this to blend protein powder shakes. However, instead of being smooth, the interior of the lid is full of nooks and crannies so what happens is that the powder gets stuck and turns into soggy lumps. So first the powder doesn't get blended into the drink so that's a waste of money and then second, cleaning the shaker is very difficult as you have to dig and dig with a brush or pipe cleaner to get the gunk out of the crevices. While it may work if you're just blending liquids, there are much better shaker choices available for powders. Tupperware makes a good one.

It leaks when you shake it...No goodDec 09, 2009

The bottle design is good but on the second day i used it, it started leaking from the top when i shook my
protein shake in it. I made sure it was tight but still leaks slightly.
It's not bad enough to throw it away but not happy with the seal quality.

After bariatric surgery last week, I spent 2 hours online looking for a good protein shaker bottle which could also be used for drinking. Decided to try 2 of these Zyliss shakers. They may be good for someone with very large hands, but for someone with medium-small hands, they are extremely difficult to work with. It's hard to just hold them...there's nothing for your fingers to actually grab. Screwing the lid on and off is a miserable task. The little plastic "wheel" that supposedly makes this a good shaker just falls inside...you spend 30 seconds every single time you use it to try and get the little wheel to stay put. Then screwing on the top never, ever works the first time. I have to try again and again, unscrewing, screwing, unscrewing, screwing until it actually screws in right.
Drinking out of it is awkward. You have to lift up that flip-thing on top, and then when you try and drink from the hole, the flip-top hits you in the nose. Surely someone makes a better product!
I do not recommend this item.
