Does what it shouldJul 08, 2008

This fits my Oster Classic just fine. It is great for a quick one person smoothie in the morning. Basically just blend and go!
Instructions (since the description is vague):
* Throw all your ingredients into the cup.
* Screw your own blender blades right onto the top of the cup. The cup is threaded to fit most blenders.
* Blend
* Remove blender base
* add the lid
The lid isn't perfect. The opening flap can get in the way when you are trying to sip out of it. A straw fits well into the hole, though, so I recommend going that way.
It also comes with a shaker ring for breaking up protein powder etc, but I use it for smoothies so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

The mixing part works fine, easy to drink from. But, cleaning out the lid from flakes of the stuff you tried to mix up is impossible. You have to use a brush to get into the tight places, they should have molded it more solidly.

Not a good choice for Powdered DrinksMar 13, 2010

I generally like Zyliss products but this particular one has a bad lid design. I purchased this to blend protein powder shakes. However, instead of being smooth, the interior of the lid is full of nooks and crannies so what happens is that the powder gets stuck and turns into soggy lumps. So first the powder doesn't get blended into the drink so that's a waste of money and then second, cleaning the shaker is very difficult as you have to dig and dig with a brush or pipe cleaner to get the gunk out of the crevices. While it may work if you're just blending liquids, there are much better shaker choices available for powders. Tupperware makes a good one.

For the last 4 months, I have been on a medically monitored diet.
That, among other things, involves mixing 3 nutritionally complete shakes per day.
I have an Oster blender. Every Oster blender uses the same jar to base thread spec, - the Mason jar canning jar spec! This marvelous shaker bottle also uses the same Mason jar thread spec.
So this Zyliss Quick shake bottle will fit ALL Oster blenders (and Oster has a huge market share.) It's the only shaker bottle I know of that will do this. Other blenders that also use the Mason jar thread style include Sunbeam and Black & Decker.
It's so much easier to mix two individual shakes in the blender each morning, and put them in a cooler bag for the day, than clean out a 40 oz blender jar everytime I use it!
Kudos to Zyliss for creating this product!

This container is very useful. I take a milk shake after workout and sometimes during the day. This blender can be attached to the base of the standard kitchen blender jar, so no part of the milk shake is wasted. After blending, just put the lid on and you can go on. It is also great to make milk shakes manually in small portions, especially those of whey protein that are impossible to do with a glass and a spoon.
