5The one Alton Brown (Good Eats) recommends, it does work better!Dec 22, 2008
By Two kids mom "scienceteachermom"
Saw this on Good Eats and had to have it. It is different from most silicone brushes in that it has a mesh "net" of silicone between the bristles. This allows it to hold more liquid, making it less messy and faster to baste items. I have used to baste beaten egg yolk onto cookies and melted butter onto pastry. Easy to clean, pop into the dishwasher.
Comes in orange, green and red. The colors are not my favorite (would have liked an nice bright blue) but not a big deal.

4Works well and doesn't leave behind the bristles of traditional brushesFeb 19, 2009
By Chicago Book Addict
This is a great basting brush. It bastes evently and does not leave behind the bristles of traditional brushes, which is a huge plus. I have used it for egg washes on baked goods, evenly coating a pan with oil, as well as other common kitchen applications and have always have good results.

It also cleans up very easily. I never have a problem with gunk getting caught in between the bristles even if I toss it in the dishwasher withou giving it a good rinse first. It does the job well for the inexpensive price.

5Great Basting BrushJan 31, 2009
By Kim M.
My husband is the real cook in the family and has been looking for a good basting brush. We have the nylon ones that leave bristles on the food. My husband saw this one on one of Alton Brown's shows and decided to purchase one. He absolutely loves it and will probably buy a couple more!

5Hooray! It's all easy!Dec 08, 2011

There's not a whole lot you can say about basting brushes, but this is the whole package. The colour makes it easy to find in the drawer, it's easy and efficient to use, stays where I put it, the bristles don't fall out, and it goes in the dishwasher.

5My LAST Basting Brush!Mar 03, 2012
By N. Flowers
This is the one that Alton Brown was talking about on the Food Network!

This basting brush has an extra piece of semi-solid silicone in between the bristles which allows the brush to pick up and hold more basting liquid...and it works! Cool. Now I can clear out the drawer with all of the other brushes...this is the only one I need.
